Lead Optometrist/Medical Director

Matthew Foley O.D.

Dr. Matthew Foley, O.D., is the owner and lead optometrist at Foley Vision Center, where he brings over 20 years of experience in eye care to patients in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. A proud graduate of the New England College of Optometry in Boston (Beta Sigma Kappa honors, Class of 2003), Dr. Foley has dedicated his career to cutting-edge vision care with a special focus on advanced dry eye treatments.

Before earning his doctorate, he graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Massachusetts Lowell and also attended Northeastern University. His journey in eye care began in 1997, and since then, he has remained committed to staying ahead of technological advancements in optometry and patient care.

A Newburyport native and 1991 graduate of Newburyport High School, Dr. Foley finds balance outside the office by spending time at Lake Winnipesaukee, Maudslay State Park, Plum Island, and Hampton Beach. He has a heart for helping kids, was a foster parent for many years, and is a passionate advocate for rescue animals. A tech enthusiast at heart, he’s always exploring new innovations to enhance both his personal life and patient care.

At Foley Vision Center, Dr. Foley blends expertise with compassionate, patient-focused care, ensuring that every visit is personalized, comfortable, and backed by the latest advancements in eye health.

Manager

Scott Howard

Scott is the first friendly face you’ll see when you come in for your appointment. He is the jack of all trades at Foley Vision Center and has been in the industry for many years! He began his career in eye care in 1988. His knowledge, experience, and kindness are what our patients adore when picking out glasses or ordering contacts.

Outside of work, you can find Scott spending time with family camping up north. One thing on his bucket list is to permanently be camping!

Dr. Foley and Scott have been working together for over 20 years. Together, they started Foley Vision Center over 10 years ago!

Optometric Technician

Jonathan Reilly

Jonathan is the newest addition to our staff. As a training Optometric Technician he is more than happy to guide each patient through different eye/vision tests as well as learn how to use the newest gear at Foley Vision Center. He is a 23 year old graduate from the University of New Hampshire with a bachelor’s degree in Communications.

When he is not working Jonathan loves to listen to and CREATE his own music! He intends to release his tunes on streaming services. Outside of work you can catch him either in his home music studio or at the gym working on strength training.
